Oct. 25th, 2012 05:30 pmToday at work:
We're hiring someone to do the same job as yours. You're expected to train them, do a good job of it, keep on top of your regular work as well as book biweekly meetings with me to discuss how you feel you've improved over all in all the things we expect you to do.

Date: 2012-10-26 10:04 pm (UTC)Couple months later, after continuously telling me they hadn't decided yet, suddenly we have a new office manager. It's the niece of one of the owners, fresh out of college and clueless.
I was supposed to train her. After two weeks she still didn't know the first thing about what she was supposed to do and I was fed up. So I quit. I wound up with a much better job which led to the one I have now that I love to pieces.
I still get irked when I think about it, even though the company went belly up a year later and I had the last laugh. Hang it there and remember that karma has a way of evening things up.
