F-list chopping

I just went through the friends list and took off a bunch of people I've either haven't talked to for quite a while, or have lost touch with, or just don't feel connected with any longer.

I'll more than likely regret this later. If you are one of the chopped and want back on to the f-list please comment and remind me where I know you from and why you actually care to know about my life, 'cause honestly? There were over 120 of you and I had no freaking clue where I knew some of you from.

This oddly enough reminds me of high school, where one has about fifty friends and now, eight years later, I have managed to keep in contact with maybe four of them.

That happens. It's called life.

Also for those who have been chopped, it's not because I don't like you or remember the good times. I wish you all the best in your life. Take care!

I know how you feel. I don't really keep in touch with... anyone from my (distant) past. People change and we all, eventually, move on.

Sure thing but I need to ask you to take all references to my real name off of your website (you have my full name up there) and deviant art. Is that okay? Just say the artist is spacefille, that would be better. It goes with my effort to take my real name off of Internet stuff. Thanks ^_^!

Actually, I was just thinking that Livejournal is really going downhill, out of the less then a hundred friends I've got I see only five or six posts a day from them. (I manage my lj-friends list to elimate feeds when I view them).
But if you friends list is still active enough that you need to prune it maybe my friends are just quitters :)

Oddly enough I just got a personal LJ message from someone who asked me to defriend them. At first I was hurt, thinking what could I have said that made her want to defriend me, then I thought she was probably doing what you're doing: just cleaning house. She and I almost never speak and her journal updates are infrequent.

Some people who have friended me I don't have friended back. I've never asked them to defriend me, though. I guess that's what I thought was odd, her specifically asking me to defriend her.

That said, I hope you still feel connected with me at least!

lol I had something like 40, and I cut my list down to 20. Most of the people on my f-list now are people who have been on it for the past 2 years or so. :D

And with myspace and facebook, I only add people I know.
