At the beginning of September I picked up three kittens in Rock Creek BC (whose mom had been eaten by a coyote.) I had stopped off because a 71 year old man who rented a guest house on this guys land had passed away and there was a yard sale sign up on the #3 Highway.

The man who owned the lands name is Randy. He's about fifty and lives alone with cats and chickens and a bunch of junk on the land.

I hand raised the kittens for 6 days and gave them to a local Vancouver kitten placement agency which is "no kill". I cried and I cried which is partly why I went back to get another, there had been at least two other kittens on that property who were motherless.

On Saturday I drove back to Rock Creek, BC. Randy has no phone so I dropped in. We talked for hours, I told him I wanted to move out that way. Since it was late, he suggested I stay over night in the guest house (he lives in a trailer at the bottom of this hill.) Since I didn't get any weird vibes from the guy I agreed and stayed over night.

I picked up a sickly girl kitten and brought her back with me.

I really want to move out there, to the middle of no where, and recollect myself. There is now a house on that guys land that has no renter. Of course I'd have to get a crap job to support myself, ie - working at a gas station.

....

So.

I told my supervisor at work today that I am quitting in a month. I've been unhappy for at least two - three months.

I only have one life. Vancouver is suffocating. I have too much junk. I need to move on with my life and disappear for a while. Rock Creek is a good a place as any. If Rock Creek doesn't work out I'll probably head back to Alberta.

I'll be selling my My Little Pony collection, so if anyone wants a special pony let me know. ;)

Duuuuuude... CONGRATS!! That takes balls, and I'm really happy for you. There's nothing wrong with working in a gas station, as long as your bills are paid. XD Good luck, and I hope its everything you hope it to be. ^_^

So...what kind of Ponies do you have? I've always liked the unicorns and the pegasus. ;D

Good luck!

I'm sorry you have been feeling suffocated and unhappy. While I miss you and was looking forward to having you around again, I understand. I hope it works, so you feel better and find what you need. Of course I must be a little selfish and also hope it works out cause Rock Creek is much, much closer to Vancouver than Alberta is heh

LOL, it's just that I may be going because I'm going to try and go back to grad school, which means that I'm probably going to give up on the regular 9-5 job and get something more flexible.

...

Like going back to work at a liquor store ~_^

Hey, it beats going back to working at a stable, shovelling horse shite all day XD

Wow, sounds like quite a change...that would scare the hell out of me! But I know you've been really unhappy at work, and maybe you're right- that kind of change may be just what you need to refocus. Then you can start thinking about what to do next. :D

Good luck!

Do what's best for you, I hope you find what you're looking for. It seems in all the time I've known you through LJ you've been looking for that one place you can call home that you're happy with. Just do me one small favor: stay in touch and let the rest of us know what's going on.

You got pictures of these My Little Ponies? I gave mine away to charity a long time ago but there were a few in my collection I regret parting with. I know, lol, I'm a grown woman and I miss my plastic ponies! XD

Try contacting the Kettle Valley Golf Course. You might find work with them quite easily actually. Good luck.

I have all kinds. If you remember one in particular I can see if I have it :)

From: [identity profile] bunnynumber13.livejournal.com
There are two in particular. One is a white Christmas pony with green eyes with a long green and red mane and tail. I think she had a ribbon and misteltoe stamp on her rear. The other one was part of a collection that I think was called My Pretty Pony and she was pink, had a long mane and tail, her eyes weren't the typical My Little Pony shape, they were tapered with more lashes. I don't remember what the stamp on her rear was but I think it was blue (might have been notes of music, can't be sure). They were both made way back in the years before whatever company that makes them stopped caring about how they looked and warped the hell out of them. I seriously think the same toys they make for kids now pale in comparison to the awesome ones I had growing up. What they've done to Barbie is downright criminal.

Wind Whistler. I'm not sure if they even made one, but I thought I saw one years ago on eBay.

Another one (non-pegasus) is Gusty, the adult. I have the baby version and have been trying to find the adult to match. :D

LOL Wind Whistler. I took out my so softs and I have 18 different ones and that is one of the only ones I am missing!

I do have an adult Gusty I can sell you. :) I have her in both regular and so soft. I used to call her my Canadian pony cause of the maple leaves. :)

I have the first one, Merry Treat. She was a mail order pony and I have her comb as well, so she'd be a bit more than a regular pony.

Second one sounds like a common, I probably have her. Does she look like this:

Sea ponies usually go for a bit more than regular ponies so I'll probably be placing those guys on E-bay. But if you have a special one you're looking for I'll take a look for you? :)

Lol--isn't that something; the only one, huh? 8D

Oh! I had the soft Gusty at one point now that you mention it but never the regular one. I'd like the regular one, please. :)

The Sweetheart Sister Pony without the earring, the pink one in the center and below in the picture (not the one to the right of the blue one), that looks like the one I had.

Oh, they have Teeny Tiny Ponies! I had two of them and they were terminally adorable. I wish I'd kept those. Oddly enough they hadn't come in pairs, I got those separately.

I've been unhappy lately as well.
I have decided it is because I'm working a crappy dead end job with next to not prospects of getting anything better.
I've almost made up my mind to go bac kto school and finish my degree-thing next year. Hopefully the boyfriend sticks around >>;
LEthbridge ain't the most exciting town... Rent could be cheaper though.

Hey, nice talking to you a while ago.
Hope the kitten is doing well, still.

Hi there!

I checked the shipping costs and found the Gusty pony (I was thinking three dollars for her? Let me know if you could). Shipping to the US is $7.50 for a small packet ground, or $8.90 for small packet air mail. If that is too much, that is okay. If you wanted, I can also send more ponies if you wanted any other ones, and it would make shipping more worth it.

Let me know if you'd like them. Also my aim name is Spacefille and I'm usually around in the evening time, we could discuss there if you'd like. :) Otherwise shoot me an e-mail at turtlegirl42(at)yahoo.com

This sounds reasonable, and I would like the Gusty pony. I've sent you an email. (Mine is leosgirl17(at)live.com, btw)

Thanks! ;D
